1970s sitcom The Jeffersons blessed the television screens of many and the classic series will be back with two favorite comedians to lead.
An upcoming ABC special live event presentation will have Jamie Foxx and Wanda Sykes playing the iconic characters of George and Louise “Weezy” Jefferson.
These two stand-up comedians may have a hard time living up to Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford, who hilariously portrayed the couple who moved from Queens “on up to the east side” with their son, Lionel but we know they will bring a sense of reminiscence.
Will Ferrell has joined the cast as George and Louise’s friend Tom Willis. The other roles such as The roles of Helen Willis, Lionel Jefferson, Jenny Willis and Mother Jefferson have yet to be cast, the role of the Jefferson housekeeper Florence Johnston will be played by Justina Machado.
